A History, In Brief

• Bilingual first-generation German immigrant. Born outside of a city on the east coast called Recollé to two overbearing parents. Studied military history at her parents' behest for a handful of semesters in college before dropping out.
• Dropped out at 19 shortly after meeting Rose Geteilt, her first girlfriend and the woman who made her realize she was gay. Disowned by her parents for a combination of reasons, but mostly the gay thing.
• Ran away to live in Recollé with Rose. Rose broke up with her because they didn't know how to talk to each other.
• Stayed in the city aimlessly, doing odd jobs and office work, until she woke up to the Retrospec app and began receiving memories of an android known as A2.
• Over the next year and a half, she came to realize that this was her destiny. That she was meant to be here, now, protecting the city that meant everything to her. She's good at it and in her mind, she should be doing it.
• Most of her organic body slowly replaced itself with robot parts. Right now, everything from the neck down is a very humanlike android, though she does have seams at her joints and is missing some patches of skin over her bare black chassis. Inside, she has wires, filters, mechanical bones, and a fission reactor for a heart. She doesn't know how her human head interfaces with her robot body and she's not asking.
• Lost her left eye on a dangerous mission into a sublayer of reality. Will not have it replaced.
• Met her future self and used the advantage of two of them to stop the eugenicist Clarence Vanderweele from obliterating reality and creating a master race from the strongest souls remaining.

Talents / Skills / Positive Traits

• Knows what she's destined for and will rise to it. She didn't know what her life had in store for her until she started transforming into an android and receiving memories of a very tired, tragic figure. Now she fights to defend the city that raised her and to give A2 her long-deserved rest.
• Inquisitive and driven. She used to be an IT tech, so she knows how to problem-solve, and no longer likes being the kind of person who sits around and lets stuff happen to her. If she can figure out a solution to a problem, she'll do her best to actually enact it.
• Loyal. If she sees a friend or someone she works with in trouble, she'll jump in with her sword to defend them long enough to get them away. She'll also stand by her friends' decisions, though she won't just sit there and blindly agree if she thinks they're bad ones.

Flaws / Failings / Negative Traits

• Refuses to process trauma. She won't go on brain pills and she hasn't followed through on her promises to go to therapy. Still hasn't allowed herself to mentally recover from losing an eye. Definitely still isn't over her first girlfriend, who broke up with her eleven fucking years ago.
• Prefers direct action, which can be a benefit or a flaw. For Anna, her plans never progress too far beyond "I have a sword", and this has gotten her into big trouble in the past. She'll reluctantly agree with other plans if someone can make a good enough case for it, but she may not listen.
• Blunt, rude, and bad with words. Communication is not and has never been her strongest suit. If you're looking for someone to tell it like it is, she's your girl, but she's not good at sugar-coating stuff. She'll also downplay or outright not talk about her own problems.
